OMG how long will I need to wait for another creme brûlée recipe to appear on my list! This french dessert was delicious, super easy to make and great for beginners! An amazing well written recipe, well done to the Disney Team for sharing this one !

Paul & I chase great brûlées and Paul’s words not mine “this one beats them all!’

NOTE: The blowtorch should be used with an adult present

RECIPE

SERVES 8

2 cups of double cream

1/2 cup of milk

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons of vanilla bean paste

1/4 cup of sugar for sprinkling

6 large eggs - yolks only

Preheat the oven to 200C

In a saucepan bring the cream, milk and vanilla paste to boil and simmer for 1min. Stir continuoisly. Remove from heat.

In a bowl, whisk egg yolks until creamy then add the cream mixture in batches and keep whisking for 1 minute.

Pour the mixture into 10inch shallow baking dishes.

Place the baking dishes in a roasting pan. Fill with hot water half way up the dishes. Place ion oven and bake for 40-45nins or until set.

Remove from pan. Dry the bottom of each small dish. Cool to room temperature and then chill for 3hours or until very cold.

When ready to serve, sprinkle with extra sugar and use the blowtorch to caramelise the top.
