A creme brûlée with a hint of orange! Yum Yum! Delicious and so easy to make!
You will need a kitchen blowtorch and an electric mixer for this one and it will be worth it!
A great alternative to a cake for dessert!

RECIPE
Makes 4
250ml (1cup) fresh cream
260g custard
1 tablespoon of vanilla bean paste
1 tablespoon of orange rind
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup (55g) sugar , plus extra for topping
Place the cream, custard and orange rind in a saucepan over low heat and bring to a boil, stirring at all times. Remove from heat.
Whisk the egg yolks and sugar until combined. Add the warm custard mixture and mix well.
Add this custard mixture in a new saucepan and return to heat. Bring to simmer and keep stirring for approx 6-8 mins or until custard thickens, this can be determined if the custard coats the back of a spoon.
Pour evenly into 4 individual small oven proof dishes. Place individual dishes in a deep casserole dish and add hot water half way up the dish. Bake in moderate oven for 20-25mins or until just set.
Remove the custard from the dish carefully (as they will be very hot) and allow them to cool for a few minutes.
Place individual dishes in the refrigerator for approx 1 hour or until set. Sprinkle each with sugar and caramelise with a kitchen blow torch until it forms a golden crust.
