TUNA & CHEESE WAFFLEWICHES
COOKBOOK: Calorie Counter’s CookBook - Better Homes & Gardens
If you like the combination of sweet & savoury, this one is then for you. I bought the waffles already made and they had the most delicious sweet flavour with a topping of tuna & cheese mixture which finished off this dish beautifully!
When I told the family what I was making, not only did their appetite disappear but they also said it was going to be a waste of time making this recipe.
I went ahead and made them. Lord behold the aroma coming out of the kitchen was killing the kids and they had to have some!
Absolutely delicious! I definitely didn’t stop at one!
115g cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons of milk
200g tuna in can (spring water or water based), flaked
4 tablespoons of chopped celery
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of fresh dill, chopped finely
4 cherry tomatoes, slided into thirds
In a mixing bowl, beat the cheese and milk to a smooth texture. Stir in tuna, celery, dill, lemon and salt and pepper for taste. Top waffle with two tablespoons of mixture . Top with tomatoes. Place in hot (200C) oven for 15mins. Remove and they are ready to be served.
