This didn’t have the butter chicken look about it but I enjoyed it immensely!
Not overly spicy and a great way to introduce a milder butter chicken to the fussier of eaters.
Super easy to make and in no time they will be out of the oven and ready to be served.
12 chicken drumsticks
1/2 of lemon, juice
1 cup plain yoghurt
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons of grated ginger
1 red chilli, chopped finely
1 tablespoon garam masala
400g butter chicken mixture (supermarket or deli)
Preheat oven to 180C
Place the chicken drumsticks in a row in an oven tray.
Squeeze juice of the lemon over the chicken.
Mix yoghurt, onion, ginger, chilli and garam masala in a bowl.
Spread the pre-made butter chicken mixture over the drumsticks and turn each piece to coat well. Top with yoghurt mixture and again turn each piece to coat well. Place in oven and bake for 40-50mins, turning once during cooking time.
I served it on a bed of rice with lettuce.
