We love our meat so when a recipe such as this one appears, we all get excited! There is a problem…….we all like our meat cooked differently and this always creates a headache for me.
Erica and I love our steak with the bloody juices pouring out of it and the rest of the family need it cooked to a point of looking black and rubbery!
Definitely an easy recipe, it’s mainly a recipe for the sauce which accompanied the steak and it was delicious
Enjoy
RECIPE
Serves 4
800g shoestring fries
700g piece of beef rump steak, cut into 4 pieces
olive oil for frying
2 x spring onions, chopped
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup brandy (optional)
1/2 cup beef stock
1/2 cup thickened cream

Preheat oven to 230C / 210C fan forced. Cook fries following packet instructions.
Meanwhile season steak with salt and pepper. Drizzle olive oil and coat each piece. It can now go straight on the hot frying pan or in a moderate oven for 5-6mins, remove from oven and then fry in skillet for a min or two. Keep warm
SAUCE
Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a deep frying pan and add the spring onions, fry lightly. Add brandy and stock and bring to boil, reduce heat to low. Add the thickened cream and simmer for 3-4 mins.
Serve steak with sauce , fries and lettuce leaves
